The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) was intended to protect consumers from the willful and/or negligent inclusion of inaccurate information in their credit reports. This law gives you the right to dispute information on your credit report. Aside from inaccuracies, if the credit reporting agency can't verify the information, they must remove it and they must do so quickly.
